Olivier Schneider is the director of the French action thriller GTMax, which features a gripping story about a family’s loyalty, fast-paced action, and the mafia, on the backdrop of the year 2024.
The film depicts how Soélie Carella, a motocross champion-turned-recluse due to a tragic accident, races back into the world of high speed due to desperation. Her sibling, Michael, carries the family’s dream by letting their father’s guidance take control; the retired motocross champion manages a racing team and a circuit at present. Mired in debt and losing their home to auction, the Carellas are fast becoming a history. As time passes in despair trying to save their father’s business, Michael falls into the tough hands of a biker gang headed by Elyas. They ask him to help them rob a jewelry store because they recognize his talent. Terrified for Michael and for her family, Soélie decides to racing for the very first time in quite a while. She makes it her mission to join the gang, protect Michael and take down the gang from the inside. The stakes are raised higher as Soélie earns the trust of the gang and bullets rain down during high-speed chases in the streets of Paris. The witness sees how the family combats their opponents with valour, for their family, for their legacy.

Olivier Schneider directs the film. Schneider is well known as an action film director which will make the film interesting. It has been written by Jean-André Yerlès, a filmmaker from France, alongside Rémi Leautier, and Rachid Santaki. They all write entertaining books that combine relatively simple action with emotional depth.

To some extent the movie has received a mixed response from audiences and critics. While there are those who highlight its impressive stunt sequences and strong acting from Ava Baya, there are those who criticize it for having a cliched storyline and failing to develop the characters. The car’s fast pursuit and emphasized stunt performance pulled focus, however, criticism was made towards how the plot’s possibilities were not fully used.
’GTMax’ is a mix of family feel drama with action and the fans of the genre who literally believe in the chase and loyalty of the family are satisfied.
